Cut your planks and plywood to the necessary lengths using your chainsaw. Sand all faces in your timber with coarse sandpaper. Set a 78-inch wooden plank and a 60 inch plank together in an L-shape, with the longer end of the plank bears against the surface of the shorter. Secure them with two L-braces in the inside corner, set each brace 3 inches from either side of the planks.
Slide the second 78-inch plank between the two 60-inch planks, parallel to the first 78-inch plank and 20 inches away from it. Place the plywood sheets down on top of the frame you’ve built, side by side, with their outer edges flush with the outer edges of the frame.
Turn down the plywood resting on the open side of the frame with some wood screws for each corner. Drive screws through the sheet and into the edge of the plank below. Attach the second sheet to the first with the help of your five hinges. Screw the hinges in place using the supplied screws. Sand the outer faces of your king size platform bed using fine sandpaper. Paint or stain as desired.
